Over 2330 Kgs Of Marijuana Worth Rs 5 Crore Unearthed From Buried Drums In Tripura

Security personnel conducted a major operation in Tripura and seized 2330 kilograms of marijuana worth around Rs 5 crore in the international market. The contraband had been concealed in drums and buried in the ground to dodge cops. The operation was carried out by a joint team of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) along with officers of Tripura State Police and CRPF (71 battalion). The teams searched two areas of Ghati Ghar of Kamalnagar at Sonumura in Sepahijala district of Tripura and recovered 78 plastic drums of different sizes which were concealed under the soil. The drums containing cannabis were pulled out after the area was dug up for the entire night. The ganja has been seized by DRI on August 17 under the NDPS Act.
