Health board to consider amending emergency medical marijuana rules at special meeting

The Oklahoma State Board of Health on Tuesday released its agenda for its upcoming special meeting, during which board members will consider amending emergency medical marijuana rules. The board will hold a special meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Members are expected to consider amendments to the controversial emergency medical marijuana rules previously adopted by the board on July 10, which includes a ban on the sale of smokable products at dispensaries and requiring a pharmacist at dispensaries. Proposed revisions to medical marijuana rules The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority on Friday released a new draft of rules, which would restore the sale of smokable medical marijuana at dispensaries and remove the pharmacist requirement. The new draft would also remove the rule stating pregnancy tests must be required before a physician can make a recommendation for medical marijuana to a “female of childbearing years.” The draft also removes limitations on THC content.
