Saudi Border Guards thwart attempts to smuggle hashish

JEDDAH: Saudi Border Guards in the southern region have foiled several attempts to smuggle more than 416 kg of hashish and arrested 34 smugglers. The Border Guards’ spokesman, Col. Saher Al-Harbi, said that 32 of the arrested suspects were Ethiopians, a Yemeni and a Saudi. He added that this comes within the framework of the Border Guards’ efforts to confront criminal networks that smuggle narcotic substances. Earlier, Al-Harbi said border guards will stand resolutely against any attempt to smuggle illegal drugs and will protect against all attempts to undermine the security and stability of the Kingdom. Last month, the German Federal Police organized training for 11 Saudi women working at the General Directorate of Border Guards. Saudi Border Guards thwart attempts to smuggle hashish
